intersectionality might be second nature to some of us but for most people, the idea is new. Spread the word!

How you can get involved

Become a casual trainer

We’re always on the look-out for talented trainers with living expertise and facilitation experience. Send us an expression of interest via the form and we’ll be in touch for a chat.

Join us as a guest speaker

From time to time, we run panels, conference sessions and communities of practice featuring speakers with living expertise. Send us an expression of interest via the form and we’ll be in touch to find out more.

Volunteer roles

intertwine is committed to hiring — and paying — people with living experience of intersecting inequality. However, with limited resources, we can’t do as much as we’d like to. If you have the privilege of spare time and energy, we’d love to have you on board. Let us know how you think you can help and someone will contact you shortly.

Living Expertise Advisory Panel (LEAP)

Our advisory panel of people with lived experience of intersecting inequality acts as a critical friend to the organisation. We follow the maxim of ‘nothing about us without us’. Panellists meet four times a year as a group and may be invited to participate in projects. Honoraria are available on a project-by-project basis. We are always looking for more panel members.

Board members

intertwine appoints Board members every year for a two-year term. We also have vacancies from time to time for alternate (trainee) Board members. You will join a small but enthusiastic team of people working to create social justice transformation through training and education, networking and communities of practice and community resources. You’ll also receive plenty of mentoring and support in this position, so don’t worry if you feel you may not have extensive previous experience in a similar role!
